Terms of Service
Effective October 13, 2026
These Terms set out the agreement between you and PassCARs. We have tried to keep them short and clear; please read them before you buy access.
1. About PassCARs and these Terms
PassCARs (“PassCARs”, “we”) provides online exam preparation for Canadian aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) candidates at passcars.ca: practice questions, flashcards, exam simulations, guides, an AME logbook and related tools.
These Terms apply when you use PassCARs. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Educational purpose — not an official service
PassCARs is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport Canada. It is not an official Transport Canada service, does not administer or grade official examinations, and does not issue licences, ratings or credits.
- Practice questions and exam simulations are study material prepared by PassCARs; they are not official examination questions, and results on PassCARs do not predict or guarantee an official result.
- Readiness scores are estimates based on your practice on PassCARs, not an assessment by Transport Canada or your school.
- Guides, the regulation browser, the regulatory assistant and calculators are study aids. Always consult the official Canadian Aviation Regulations, standards and approved aircraft documentation for compliance and maintenance decisions.
We work to keep content accurate and current, but regulations change and errors can occur. If you spot one, please tell us.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- You can sign up with email and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- An account is for one person. Do not share your account or let others use your access.
- Tell us at support@passcars.ca if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Plans, payment and access
A free account lets you preview PassCARs. Full access is sold as a one-time payment for a fixed period:
- Student Access — CAD $19.99 for 6 months. Available only to learners whose enrolment in a qualifying AME training program has been verified (section 6).
- Apprentice Access — CAD $29.99 for 3 months.
- No subscriptions and no automatic renewal. You are charged once, when you buy. Access ends at the end of the period unless you choose to buy again.
- Access starts when your payment is confirmed. If you buy again before your current access ends, the new period is added to the end of your existing access, so you do not lose remaining days.
- Payments are processed by Stripe on its secure checkout page.
- All prices are in Canadian dollars. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
We may change prices or plans for future purchases. A change never affects access you have already paid for.
5. School and institutional access
Schools and training organizations interested in PassCARs access for their students can contact support@passcars.ca. The individual plans and prices in section 4 apply to individual purchases; they do not set the terms of access a school provides.
If your access is provided through your school, these Terms still apply to your own use of PassCARs, and your school's instructors and administrators can see your progress as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Student verification
To get student pricing, you submit details of your institution and program and a proof-of-enrolment document, which we review. We may approve or decline an application, and we may ask for more information. If we find that student access was obtained with false or misleading information, we may end that access.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Because plans are one-time purchases with no renewal, there is nothing to cancel to avoid future charges.
To ask for a refund, email support@passcars.ca from the email address on your PassCARs account and include:
- the plan you bought and the date of purchase; and
- the reason for your request (for example, a duplicate or mistaken charge, or a problem using PassCARs).
We review each request individually and reply by email. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. If a purchase is fully refunded, the access period that purchase paid for ends; a partial refund does not change your access.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory.
8. Acceptable use
When using PassCARs, do not:
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, publish, sell or share our questions, flashcards or other content;
- share your account or resell access;
- interfere with the platform, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or get around access limits;
- enter false logbook entries or misrepresent who certified them; or
- use PassCARs in a way that breaks the law or harms other users.
9. Our content and your content
PassCARs content — including questions, explanations, flashcards, guides, scenarios, diagrams and software — belongs to PassCARs or its licensors. While you have access, you may use it for your own personal study.
Your notes, logbook entries and other information you add remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only as needed to provide PassCARs to you and as described in our Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve PassCARs without obligation to you.
10. AME logbook
The logbook helps you record experience and request reviews from a certifier. You are responsible for the accuracy of your entries. A logbook kept on PassCARs is a record-keeping aid: whether it is accepted toward a licence application is decided by Transport Canada and its requirements, not by PassCARs.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep PassCARs available and accurate, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may add, change or remove features and content over time.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using PassCARs at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@passcars.ca. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms; where reasonable we will tell you why first.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
PassCARs is provided for exam preparation. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that you will pass any examination or that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we are not responsible for maintenance, airworthiness or compliance decisions made using PassCARs content.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to PassCARs is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law or limits your rights under consumer protection law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws in force in Canada that apply to them. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of the province or territory where you live.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and will show the new effective date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know, for example in the app or by email. Continuing to use PassCARs after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
