Getting a DGCA AME Computer Number

The Computer Number is your login and identity for DGCA AME examinations. This is how the AME User Manual (Issue 6) describes getting one.

What the Computer Number is for

New candidates register on the DGCA Pariksha portal to be allotted a Computer Number. After allotment, candidates log in with the Computer Number to fill examination forms and manage their profile.

Previously licensed or pre-1992 candidates who want to sit any examination in future also apply as new candidates, with a copy of their licence, if they do not already have a Computer Number.

Instant allotment through DigiLocker

Eligible candidates can get the Computer Number immediately through auto-generation after successful DigiLocker verification. The User Manual’s conditions include being an Indian national, an Aadhaar number that exactly matches DigiLocker, Class 10 and 10+2 records verifiable through DigiLocker, a photograph matching the Aadhaar photograph and a signature uploaded as instructed.

A May 2026 public notice extended auto-generation to candidates who passed Class 10 and 12 from any recognised board, subject to DigiLocker verification.

Manual allotment and rejections

If an application needs manual processing and meets the requirements, the User Manual says the Computer Number will be issued within 12 working days of online submission. Candidates can self-reject an application they find a mistake in before it is processed.

The Pariksha portal publishes a list of common rejection reasons — for example photographs or signatures not uploaded as the manual specifies, mismatched names or dates of birth across documents, missing or illegible mark sheets, and Board Verification Certificate (BVC) problems.

Appealing a rejection

A candidate unhappy with the reasons for rejection can appeal to the Director, Central Examination Organisation (CEO), by email, by post or in person at the times listed in the User Manual.
