Sessions, QPREFs, fees and admit cards — from the AME User Manual Issue 6 and DGCA public notices.

Sessions are announced by public notice

DGCA’s Central Examination Organisation publishes an annual examination calendar and a public notice for each session. The examination form is only available for the period stated in that notice.

DGCA runs Regular sessions and Online On-Demand Examination (OLODE) sessions. The September 2026 notice explains that OLODE lets candidates choose a date and time from available slots, with limited seats given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Choosing papers (QPREFs) and paying

Candidates log in with their Computer Number, choose the session and category, two centre choices and the eligible question-paper references (QPREFs). In a Regular session a candidate may appear for a maximum of five QPREFs of that category, and may apply only once per session.

The User Manual lists the fee per examination paper as Rs 1,500 for a Regular session and Rs 3,000 for OLODE. Payment is made only through the Government’s Bharatkosh gateway. The User Manual states that a fee once paid is not refunded or adjusted for later sessions, including on rejection; its refund chapter covers refunds of failed payment transactions.

After you apply

Once the application is scrutinised, CEO emails the candidate the allotted roll number or the reasons for rejection. Schedules and venues are published on Pariksha; after the public notice on admit cards, candidates download and print their admit card, which must be carried into the examination hall.

Always read the current notice

Dates, centres and instructions change from session to session. The User Manual itself tells candidates to read the notices on the Pariksha AME Notice Board together with the latest User Manual.
